Saturday night and we were off to the splendid wood-paneled hotel in Shepperton, The Anchor Hotel for Sharon’s diamond-themed 40th birthday. A fun night with family and friends and the odd musical solo. The Lakes generously pre-booked prints for their guests who took the opportunity of a family/couple photo to remember the night by. We experimented successfully with a smaller backdrop to fit in the 400 year old venue. So now we’re extra-flexible as modern photographers need to be. A perfect event for keeping the children entertained with activities ranging from learning circus skills, decorating tea pots and cups through to making the Mad Hatter’s hat. Alice and her friends will be performing on stage as well as meeting and greeting visitors. Plus an Easter Market with stalls selling delicious foods and a wide variety of gifts and toys.

The dinner dance which was held at The Mandolay Hotel in Guildford, Surrey was such a personal event so we were thrilled to be a part of it. The photo studio was heaving which was great as we were able to donate a good amount of money to the team. The organiser was Hannah’s good friend Liz who did such an excellent job and gave a brilliant speech which was funny and heart-felt without being overly sentimental.

After almost a year on this Earth the little man is finally sleeping through the night (most of the time) and so I intend to get back to blogging and generally communicating with the world again.

Once again the venue was the magnificent ballroom at the The Royal Bath Hotel in Bournemouth. There were lots of prom/hollywood style touches like a red carpet, a chocolate fountain and an array of strangely life-like celebrity masks which you can see in the photos.

On Friday 10th September 2010 we photographed an extremely lively reunion/networking event for about 175 people who used to work together. They had obviously missed each other as many of them travelled from all over the world to attend.

The event was held in a beautiful photographic studio space in Hammersmith called Jasmine Studios. We had been booked for full photographic coverage and the brief was that it was “all about the people”. We spent the first half of the event photographing the guests mingling and the speeches. The second half of the evening was spent in one of the two infinity studios upstairs. This amazing photographic studio has a sloping wall for use as a backdrop and we had a lot of fun with that.
